The secret to choosing the perfect glasses size is simple: Know your size. Of course, we understand that a perfect fit is essential, but also challenging. We've put together this sizing guide to help you know everything you need to know about the perfect glasses size, frame sizes, and DIY measuring tips.

Understanding glasses frame sizes

When it comes to eyeglass sizes, there are several dimensions (all in millimeters) you need to consider. what are these?

Lens width is the horizontal diameter of the lens at its widest point and is commonly referred to by optometrists as "eye size."

Lens height measures the lens vertically at its highest point and is often defined as "standard". Although unfortunately different brands define "standard" height differently, it is usually around 32-38mm.

Bridge width is measured horizontally over the part of the nose between the lenses and usually ranges from 14-24mm.

Temple length measures the temple from the front hinge to the end of the temple behind the ear, including the bend. It usually falls between one of three standards - 135, 140, or 145mm.

How to find the perfect glasses size?

Tip 1: Check the size of the current frame

If you already have a pair of glasses at home, you're on top. If you look inside your glasses, in most cases you'll find a series of numbers representing your frame size, like this: 52 [] 22 145. Every pair of glasses is different, and size information may be located in different places—usually on the inside of the temple, bridge, or ear section. What do these numbers mean? this is very simple. If the number is 52 22 145, your frame size is:

• 52mm lens width

• 22mm bridge width

• 145mm temple length

After reviewing these dimensions, compare them to the dimensions of the spec you just selected. If they are similar, go ahead! It should work for you.

Tip 2: Measure the current frame yourself

It's not the end of the world if numbers aren't printed on your frame. It's time to show off your crafting skills! Now that you have an idea of what you need to know to determine frame size, you can easily measure them with a millimeter ruler or cloth tape measure.

Tip 3: Use a credit card

We're not kidding. A credit card is roughly the same width as a standard-size lens (also defined as an "M" or "medium" size), and it may be the perfect tool to help you in this situation.

Take a credit card, stand in front of a mirror, place one edge of the card in the center of your nose, and observe where the other edge ends. If the card ends at the end of your eye, you should choose the standard size (M). If it goes beyond the end of your eyes, you have a very small fit (S). On the other hand, if the card doesn't even reach the end of your eye, you have a larger size (L).

So, what is the right size? One question, but there are so many different ways to answer it. Check out your current frame and test your DIY skills. You'll never buy glasses that don't fit again! If you want to customize or buy glasses, please contact us.
